In 2008, TATE Modern hosted an exhibit of 6 different street artists including JR, Blu, Nunca, and Os Gemeos. The exhibit brought street art into the gallery, as well as outside, with large pastings on the outer walls. Below are large format pastings by french street artist, JR. In 2007, JR raised political awareness with his Face2Face project, combining photos of Palestinians and Israelis next to one another in eight different Palestinian and Israeli cities. He is currently working on a project called Unframed, where he uses the photographs of prominent photographers in museums’ archives.
