NY Times: Monday Nov. 22, 2010 – front page photographs

Found these images interesting… Not only were they taken with an iPhone (the topic of one of the articles), but the iPhone was using an app. that imitates the kind of pictures a Holga camera would produce. This is very interesting to me because the photographs are of U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan. Seeing these photos made me wonder if the photographer, Damon Winter, was trying to romanticize war or create a nostalgic feeling for the viewers/readers. I still don’t know what I think about it, honestly.
